Eugen Borchest (オイゲン・ボルヒェルト) is a playable character in Front Mission Alternative.
Biography[]
Born in 2004, Eugen was a WAW Engineer and mechanic from the EC who worked at Schnecke in it's R&D department before defecting to the WALF under dark circumstances. Ingame Eugen replaces Furphy Dal in the First Platoon of the International Mobile Assault Company by delivering the TCK to them on behalf of the West African Liberation Front in preparation of liberating Lagos. Eugen is initially secretive of his past to McCoy; only discussing the fact he's an Engineer and used to work for Schnecke. As the possibility of the West African Community States being liberated became more viable Colonel Ireo tells Earl McCoy that Eugen was deliberately keeping a secret. When confronted about this Eugen revealed that not only had he'd been an Engineer for Schnecke, but that the factory he worked was located in the Union of North African States rather than EC Germany. He was also the son of Schnecke's development head: Dr. Lamboldt. Eugen's real name was Michael Lamboldt but he discarded it in shame upon discovering the factory was being used to fuel conflicts across Africa. He then reveals that Cerberus Garde formally controlled the factory and that they intended to intercept a test by the Yagisawa Corporation of beam weapons in North Africa for their own ends. IMAC intercepted this attempt and raided the factory; destroying it and revealing it's documents to the world. This settled the subtext of the conflict and eased Eugen's mind in the process. In the aftermath of the war McCoy and Eugen stay behind in Africa after the IMAC withdraws from Africa hoping to assure the peace they fought for.
